¶600. Handling Employee Absences

There are many reasons employees need to be off work, some of which are protected by laws and regulations and many of which are covered by employer policies. A few have discrimination aspects. Some of the earliest leave discrimination issues addressed by state and federal laws had to do with the need for women to take time off for childbirth.
