¶653. Serious Injury or Illness of Servicemember
The 2008 FMLA amendments also provided for up to 26 weeks of unpaid leave by a spouse, son, daughter, parent or next of kin to care for a servicemember who becomes seriously ill or is seriously wounded in the line of duty to such an extent that he or she is medically unfit for active duty.
