Is an employer required to give notice under WARN if it is not closing an entire plant or facility? Possibly. WARN applies to more than just plant closings. Depending on the number of employees that would be affected by an employer's actions, an employer may be required to give notice of partial closings, where an operating unit or facility or building within a site is shut down, or in layoff situations where reductions are being made facility-wide.
