Discrimination Laws and Retaliation

A wide variety of discrimination laws prohibit employers from retaliating against employees or former employees who engage in protected activities. These laws include Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), the Equal Pay Act (EPA), the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA), state anti-discrimination and whistleblower statutes, and workers' compensation statutes.
