Preparing For and Dealing With DOL Audits

Description

This 90-minute interactive audio conference will help you learn the best way to prepare for an audit or investigation under the current enforcement mindset at DOL, and to deal with one once it is underway.

Recently, the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) has increased its enforcement resources and efforts, reflected in a recent announcement to hire approximately 250 new Wage and Hour investigators to actively audit and pursue remedies against employers suspected or accused of violating the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Federal contractors and subcontractors are also facing increased audits and enforcement initiatives by DOL's Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP), which expects to add about 213 new investigative and enforcement personnel. Recipients of federal "stimulus" funds under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) will be targeted by OFCCP for full desk and on-site audits, even in the absence of indicators of systemic discrimination. How you respond to a DOL audit or investigation, how you deal with the federal agents conducting the audit, and how you manage the audit process will determine the ultimate positive or potentially painful outcome.
